As you may know, Microsoft announced yesterday an astounding 20 separate flaws in Windows and Outlook Express. Affected platforms include:
There are three updates to run that fix vulnerabilities in the operating system, either Windows 2000 or Windows XP. In addition, there is an update for Outlook Express which should be run no matter if you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
For each update, click on the link, and then choose Open the file from the current location or Open. The update will download to your computer, and begin running automatically. Follow the instructions in the wizard to install the update.
Note: Depending on your computer's configuration, you may be asked to reboot after installing an update. If asked, reboot your computer before proceeding to the next update.

If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) or later, you can take advantage of Automatic Updates, which can automatically download the latest Microsoft security updates while your computer is on and connected to the Internet. If you are not sure if you have the latest service pack installed, you can find out by following the instructions for checking your operating system version.
